BALMAIN LANDSCAPING

The design brief for this inner-city small space was to bring nature and natural elements along with an edible garden into the city as a good place to relax and unwind.

We came up with a rustic but contemporary design, using bluestone brick pavers in large offset pads along with recycled railway timber sleeper garden beds.

The Spotted Gum hardwood L shaped bench seat nestled within the lush garden beds is a generous amount of seating for family and friends to gather and relax making the most of limited space.

Trees planted were all trees that can provide fruit, including olives, orange, lemon, and mandarin. Various vegetables and herbs were planted in the raised beds along with creeping rosemary and creeping thyme for groundcovers.

Zoysia tenuifolia groundcover were planted in-between the paving and a small lawn area to give a no maintenance soft lawn.

All the boundary fences were painted in a dark colour to help the plants to really pop and evoke a cosy ambience.
